Who should deliver this course?

If you’re a fully qualified PADI instructor and have always wanted to deliver scuba diving courses but don’t have the facilities then join us today. Firstly as an independent instructor You’ll manage collection of course fees (you charge your students). Then step your student through their Open Water certification. Basically you will use our gear, our facilities (Pool/Boats) etc. All from the convenience of our world class facilities at 95 Marine Parade, Southport. 

So, to enrol your student in a PADI Open Water Diver course (or Junior Open Water Diver course) today. Oh, and your student must be 10 years old or older. 

Hence, you’ll need to know;

  • All you student details – Name, Date of birth, prior certifications
  • Your PADI Instructor Code 

Furthermore your students will need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required.

What you’ll  deliver?

Overall the PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

  • Knowledge Development (online, independent study) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
  • Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills (Pool)
  • Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore!

How can you start delivering a course now?

So, your students will start their learning by enrolling online. This can be done at any time as the theory is done online with eLearning. Their code will be emailed to you but you should contact us to speak to us about scheduling time for in-water training.   

Presently our in-water sessions for Open Water consist of 3 days that need not be done consecutively.

  • Day 1 is done in the pool on Friday evenings from 17h00 – 20h00.
  • Day 2 is done at Wave Break Island on Saturdays and the time is determined by the tides.
  • Day 3 is done at Wavebreak Island on Sundays and the time is determined by the tides.

Since our PADI instructors will initially assist answer any questions you have along the way. We will check your progress to make sure you’re providing scuba diving lessons & information at the high level required by PADI.

What equipment will you use?

Firstly, in the PADI Open Water Diver course, your students will learn to use basic scuba gear. Including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device and a tank.

All the equipment needed to complete the Basic Course will be provided by the dive centre.

Should your student  however choose our Gold Course, they will be fitted with their own wetsuit, mask snorkel and fins package.

So, with the Platinum Course, they will not only receive the above soft gear but a BCD, Reg Set, Dive Computer and mesh bag to complete their full gear set to take home.

Therefore it would be a good idea for your student to visit the store prior to the start date of your students course. So they can be fitted if they have chosen the Gold and Platinum courses.

What to Expect from Our Diving Open Water Course?

We have designed our diving open water course as per the guidelines set by the PADI certification body. This includes three distinct phases:

Knowledge Development

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is designed to enhance diving skills and experience.

Additionally the basic skills acquired in the Open Water Diver course, the Advanced Open Water course allows you to choose from a variety of adventure dives to further develop your abilities and explore specific areas of interest.

WHAT WILL YOU TEACH?

Firstly, plan your students learning path by assisting them choose from a list of Adventure Dives.

Secondly, there are two required dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation – and your student can then choose the other three, for a total of five dives.

During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.

Finally, the other knowledge and skills you get vary with your interest and the adventures you have – photography, buoyancy control, fish identification, exploring wrecks and many more.

Recommended Modules

During this phase of open water diving course length, you’ll get a chance to apply theoretical knowledge.

You will be in a controlled environment, typically a pool. Furthermore, under the guidance of experienced instructors, you’ll learn and practise fundamental scuba skills. Specifically including mastering breathing techniques, buoyancy control, mask clearing, and equalisation. These skills are essential for a comfortable diving experience.

Deep Diving

This dive allows you to explore depths between 18-30 meters (60-100 feet), teaching you the skills necessary for diving in deeper waters.

Underwater Navigation

Improve your underwater navigation skills, including using a compass, natural navigation techniques, and estimating distances underwater.

Search and Recovery

Develop skills for locating and recovering lost objects underwater. Learn about search patterns and the use of lifting devices.

Fish Identification

Improve your ability to identify different fish species and understand their behaviors and habitats.

Peak Performance Buoyancy

Further refine your buoyancy skills, ensuring you can control your position in the water without disturbing the aquatic environment

Underwater Naturalist

Explore the underwater ecosystem, learn about marine life, their behaviours, and their interactions within their environment.
